Chests
|
|
|
| You will encounter a total of 54 random chests during your time in
Krondor. With the 6 room types each spawns exactly 9 chests from chapters
0 through 3. They spawn in a specific order with packs in every room type.
That order is as follows: |
|
| 3 Chests |
| 1 Pack |
| 1 Chest |
| 1 Pack |
| 2 Chests |
| 1 Pack |
| 3 Chests |
| 1 Pack |
|
| |
| With the log, you can predict just what will
come up in the room next knowing this simple sequence. |
| |
| The traps on chests randomize throughout the chapters. In Chapter 0
they stay less complex, supposedly. Less deadly may be a better choice
of words. From Chapter 1 on you will encounter the more complex or deadly
traps. You will basically move beyond physical and fire damage types to
include the poison types and more variations of the fire and physical damage
types. If you take all 9 chests in a room during Chapter 0 you will only
need to disarm about 7 trap types total. If you leave the chests until
later chapters you will encounter a different trap on each chest in a given
room type. |
| |
| The loot in chests gets better in quality as the chapters progress.
For example chests full of armor pieces may follow a pattern similar to
this: |
| |
| Chapter 0 |
Chapters 1 & 2 |
Chapter 3 |
| 6 Pig Leather Jerkins |
1-3 Pig Leather Jerkins |
maybe 1 Pig Leather Jerkin |
| 4 Guards Leather Jerkins |
3-6 Guards Leather Jerkins |
1-3 Guards Leather Jerkins |
| 2 Keshian Leather Jerkins |
3-5 Keshian Leather Jerkins |
2-5 Keshian Leather Jerkins |
potion, useless scrap of paper,
or old documents |
maybe 1 Studded Leather Jerkin |
1-3 Studded Leather Jerkins |
|
| |
| If you are in it to make a few bucks, particularly if some one were
Heirlooming and needed cash to buy back items, it might be best to wait
until later chapters to even enter these rooms at all. |
